The Beginning of Rainbowland
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star...
Everyday my little one wakes me up at the crack of dawn and begins his morning by braving the land of wet crashing waves, magical spitting fish, nesting turtles, and floating orbs. (bath time) During the course of the day he manages to fight off killer squeaking ladybugs, multi-colored inch worms, and loud obnoxious grasshoppers. After this he's off to rescue his trusty ant sidekick from the massive jaws of a terrifying dinosaur. Despite his busy day he can still find the time to sit and chat with his dear friends, Elmo and Cookie Monster. Tough as he may seem, he still needs the occasional comfort of his mommy (and her food) and, after a long day, he lays down in his crib with his little ant, and they drift off to the land where anything and everything is possible only to wake up the next morning and do it all over again.
See the Shining Light
Now that you know how Solan spends his time, here's a few things about him. He has dark brown hair that gets lighter and thinner each week, (he needs to join the Hair Club for Men, or Babies) deep blue eyes, and pouty little lips. Popscicles and fruit snacks make him smile and beg for more. Itsy, Bitsy spider is his favorite song, and he sings along, of course. His most favorite time of the day is bath time, and he LOVES to be naked. (I'm going to have to watch this one very closely) He likes to eat and watch tv. Bear in the Big Blue House is his favorite show, and he even has a purple otter named Pip. Mornings are his best time of the day, and he spends those playing with his grandparents and doing, well, baby stuff. He loves to swing and feel the breeze through his hair, what's left of it. He travels and can talk your ear off. At night he likes to snuggle with his mommy, and sometimes she lets him sleep in the bed with her. He's a beautiful baby, loved by all, and he loves everyone in return.
Lost in Learning
When I thought of me having a baby, I thought of my husband and I gazing proudly at our new bundle of joy, I thought of the perfect family and the perfect life that we would all share as this child grew and became a parent itself. So when I found out that I was pregnant I was extremely depressed and horrified. It was nothing like I imagined. Here i am, a single mom, 18 years old, and working at a dumpy little seafood restaurant. What could I possibly offer this child? Abortion did not even cross my mind, (i'm strongly opposed to it) and adoption was not even an option. I was going to have this baby, by myself if thats what it came to, and I was going to give it the best life that I possibly could. As the pregnancy progressed I could see my baby growing, hear its heartbeat, and one day found out that it was a little boy. We did everything together, and one unexpected day, I found myself in the hospital giving birth to my little one. We have been inseperable since, and I couldn't be more happier. I can't imagine life without Solan, and I don't want to. It seems like yesterday that I was staring at the results of my ept, and now I'm staring at my beautiful boy. He's already 4 months old, time goes by so fast. I love this child more than anything, and he could have been prevented, but truthfully, he is the best mistake that i've ever made, and if I could go back in time and change it, I wouldn't.
